Masa's Report No 5
(August 9-10)
Catfish
Today We went to pick-up Daniel (Joe's nine year
old cousin) at the airport.
Because we had time, we went to an interesting restraunt. We ate
Louisianna style fried catfish. In Japan, we do not eat this fish very much. There
is a saying that if you hurt a catfish (NAMAZU) an earthquake will come. In
southeastern American cooking, catfish is famous. On the side we ate red beans and
rice. The red beans were a little spicy. The catfish was lighter than Japanese eel
(UNAGI) and very delicious. Everyone
should try eating this sometime. On
the way home we saw a beautiful night view of Atlanta. The gold dome on the capitol
building was especially beautiful. On this trip, I want to find some Georgia gold.
The Rain is Over!
After
two days of rain, the rain finally stopped. At four o'clock we went to the river to
play. Then we took baths in the river. It was very fun! After that,
we had dinner on the deck of the cabin on a table we built yesterday. The
menu was potato stew, bread, and cheese. We listened to the soundtrack of the movie The
Devil's Own. The food, music, and place were a perfect feeling!
